The Mountain
Shiga Kogen is located in Nagano prefecture on the main island if Honshu and is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan. There are 18 ski areas consisting of 51 chairlifts & gondolas. You can ski across the whole mountains or catch the mountain shuttle bus.
Where to stay
The most accommodation chioice is in the Ichinose area where there are several restaurant options to dine out. The Yakebitaiyama area has the three ski in & out Shiga Kogen Prince Hotels. The Okushiga Kogen area is nice and quiet and has many high class hotels.
The Location
It is about 90 minutes from Tokyo to Nagano station by Shinkansen and another 90 minutes by Nagaden Express bus from Nagano station to Shiga Kogen. You also have an option to catch the direct airport shuttle to your accommodation. We can help you planning the best way to transfer to Shiga Kogen from the airport or anywhere in Japan.

SHIGA KOGEN PRINCE HOTEL
There are 3 ski in & out Shiga Kogen Prince Hotels (East, South and West buildings) at the base of Yakebitaiyama. This package is for the West building. Early bird stay and snow packages for the East building are also available, but these are a more expensive option.
The free shuttle bus is run between the hotels and there is also a night time shuttle bus which you can use to go to Ichinose area, which has the most dining options.
The package comes with a 2 day lift pass for the Yakebitaiyama area around the Prince hotels and a 4 day all mountain pass for all of Shiga Kogen. Early bird stay and snow packages for East building are also available, but these are a more expensive option.
