MANZA ONSEN

Gunma, Manza Onsen

Manza Onsen

Manza Onsen Is located in Gunma prefecture, which is about 3 hours by train from Tokyo. Manza Onsen is a classic Japanese snow resort. This onsen resort is one of the highest onsen resorts in Japan as it is located at 1,760 meters above sea level. For this reason, the view from the open-air bath is outstanding. A feature of this onsen is the color of milky white. Renowned as a symbol of Manza Onsen, "Karabuki" jets volcanic gas containing steam from between the rocks.

Due to the high altitude of 1,994 meters, Manza Onsen Ski Resort offers the lightest and driest powder snow in Japan's Northern Alps. The trails are mostly designed with beginner and intermediate skiers, but there are a number of fun features including a mini terrain park and a few non-groomed runs.

If you love Onsen we suggest to add a night or two at Kusatsu Onsen ! Kusatsu is famous as one of the three major onsens in Japan. Among the top 100 Onsen selected by travel pros, Kusatsu Onsen has ranked number one in Japan for 17 years in a row! Kusatsu Onsen has a small ski resort as well.
